Yoga Programs
Learning through Movement
Yoga is an art and science that invigorates the body, brings calm and focus to the mind, and uplifts the spirit through postures, breath, movement, and quiet stillness.
Toddler Yoga 2-3.5
These classes are 20-30 minute classes and incorporate creative movement, songs, games, stories and yoga poses that help kids go from silly to calm, anxious to content, sad to happy. Each class starts with a yoga “hello” song and ends with a yoga “good bye” song. Children engage in gross motor activities, learn to follow directions and listen. All classes contain a brief period of deep relaxation with guided imagery.
Preschool Yoga 3-5
More traditional yoga poses are introduced through silly stories and games that increase body awareness and encourage children to learn about their body. We do lots of counting, sing songs, tell stories and read books with yoga themes. The children are challenged to balance on one foot, learn postures that cross the mid-line (known to help brain development) and small motor skills that help prepare children for writing and coloring. This is a literacy rich program and enhances vocabulary, listening skills and reading preparedness.
Children’s Yoga 6-9
Traditionally, yoga is introduced to children at 8 years old. In this age bracket, we begin to learn more yoga poses especially Sun Salutations, and Standing poses that help with alignment. We also begin to increase the time spent in deep relaxation and learn restorative yoga poses that give the body and mind a special time to really “settle in” at the end of a busy and active day. Although we continue to use stories and songs to teach yoga, we also learn specific sequences that are repeated to “mastery”. (We always emphasis that yoga is a practice.)
Tween Yoga 9-12
We keep our yoga for this age group high energy (repeated flowing sequences that increase the heart rate) coupled with restorative and relaxing yoga to sooth the mind and body. As this age group spends more and more time sitting at schools desks or on the couch playing video games or watching TV, the need to exhilarate the body through dynamic postures increases. Tips and tools for combating social issues, improving concentration for test taking, methods to reduce stress and anxiety, techniques for increasing ability for sports, and improving over all health and vitality.
Teen Yoga 12-18
Classes look more like adult yoga classes with special attention to the compassion needed for young adults whose bodies and minds are changing. We introduce journal writing, art, and dance to offer students a creative outlet. We emphasis yoga tools that help improve the daily lives of this age group including: test taking tools, yoga for sports, restorative poses that aid sleep, and we have a few other tips in our yoga basket.

School and Childcare Center Programs
At schools and childcare centers we work with teachers and administrators to provide the best package of services for your school. Types of classes or trainings include tips for teachers on incorporating yoga into the classroom, yoga tools for parents, or classes for children. We also offer after school enrichment programs.
We work with children and youth ages 2-18 and design programs that fit the needs and abilities of each age group.
Parent and Child Programs
We come to your house or backyard or a community center or mommy group and provide techniques for calming, soothing, and bonding with your beautiful loved one all while strengthening and toning your body.
Professional Development
Yoga is a fun, non-competitive fitness activity that invigorates the body, calms and focuses the mind and uplifts the spirit. Yoga has been used to reduce the symptoms associated with ADD and ADHD and can be an effective way to reach the needs of students with special needs. We will explore simple and dynamic techniques for integrating yoga into the classroom and yoga poses and sequences that resonate with this age group. Workshops are geared towards educators who work with children in the classroom and can be used with children who have special needs.
